Biography

Kristin Eklund was born in Kalmar hospital in 1979. She was raised in the small village Kroksjö in the Municipality of Nybro in Småland (A county in southern Sweden). From 2001 to present, she lives and works in Stockholm. Kristin is a multitalented artist, who works in several different disciplines, among them painting, drawing, photo, video, animation, and music. She also makes The Comic “Ensam är ledsen” on The Internet.

Already as a child she showed artistic talent, making drawings and paintings. At eight she started to play the Piano. At her tenth birthday she got a keyboard from her parents, on which she used to make her own music, and record it on a cassette player. She have continued to make her own music ever since.

According to herself, she started to focus more on her artistic talents in 1994, and started to make drawings, paintings and write poems more seriously than earlier. In the summer 1997, she got her first video camera, and started to make movies, later on even animations. 1997 – 1999 she went to art prep school in Munka-Ljungby northeast of Helsingborg in southern Sweden.

In 1998 she bought a white pedal organ, at the same time she started to make music under her artist alias Naimi. Her music is as multifaceted and innovative as her artistry; she plays guitar, piano, organ, keyboard etc. And also makes inventive electronic music with winks to early computer and videogame music.
